US Congress voted to gut internet privacy protections, allowing your internet provider to sell your internet activity data to the highest (or any) bidder.
The House of Representatives voted [March 28th, 2017] to pass resolution S.J.Res.34 that would overturn a Federal Communications Commission rule that requires internet service providers to get customers’ permission before selling sensitive consumer data, such as browsing history.
Congress completed its overturning of the nation’s strongest internet privacy protections for individuals on Tuesday in a victory for telecommunications companies, which can track and sell a customer’s online information with greater ease.
[T]he Republican-drafted measure would blow "a gaping hole in federal privacy protections."
Congress "voted today to erase basic privacy protections for Americans in favor of the internet service providers' (ISPs) bottom line"
Based on Squawk, a Noise-as-a-Service project for Australians, this project provides a similar service for US citizens. By adding as much noise as possible to your users traffic, it aims to make it as worthless as possible to potential buyers.
Deploying randomnoise.us is achieved simply by adding the following line to your web site:
<script async src="//randomnoise.us/js/squawk.js"></script>
Deploying this code will cause your web site visitors to make a single request to a random IP address, for every request that you serve with the script tag, in order to add noise to the logs being kept by ISPs.
